One of the biggest trends in packaging at the moment is typography, on labels, boxes and a whole host of other styles it is versatile and ever changing. There are thousands of fonts and styles available and the hand drawn possibilities are endless. One style of packaging it has become particularly popular in is alcohol packaging. It looks great on bottle labels and so has become the new trend for alcohol packaging design.

This beer packaging has a combination of different typography and simple colours and lines.
This packaging has taken a more realistic approach, containing important information about the brewing process and ingredients. This makes the typography design a little less pointless and gives the consumer something attractive to read.
It isn’t just independent alcohol companies using this style of packaging design. The bigger brands, for example Budweiser, have started using this style too. This particular design from Budweiser doesn’t quite hit the trend with its colours or slightly plastic feel but it is a good attempt all the same. The layout of the labels and the style of typography used is a little too formal and although it is meant to appear exclusive, it just appears as though it hasn’t been labelled properly.
